Get the launcher
The launcher downloads and updates everything Legends: Age of Chaos needs — you do not need the original Dark Ages client, or anything else, installed first.
Windows 10 or later (64-bit). Run the installer — it installs just for your account, so it never asks for an administrator password, and it adds a Start Menu entry.
Apple Silicon covers every Mac from 2020 onward (M1 and newer); choose Intel only for an older one. The Apple menu › About This Mac tells you which you have.
- Unzip the download.
- Drag Legends: Age of Chaos into your Applications folder and open it from there.
- Open System Settings › Privacy & Security, scroll down to the message about Legends: Age of Chaos, and choose Open Anyway.
64-bit (x86-64) Linux with a graphical desktop. It should run on any current distribution, including Ubuntu, Mint, Debian, Fedora, Arch and CachyOS. The game needs OpenGL 3.3, which any graphics driver from the last decade provides.
- Extract the download:
tar -xzf LegendsAgeOfChaos-linux-x64.tar.gz - Run
LegendsAgeOfChaos/install.sh. It installs just for your account, so it never asks for a password, and it adds Legends: Age of Chaos to your applications menu. - Open it from the menu. The launcher keeps itself up to date from then on, so you can delete the extracted folder.
Then what
- Run the launcher to play
It downloads the latest Legends: Age of Chaos game files, keeps them up to date, and starts the game. The first run fetches everything, so give it a few minutes.
