A Waking Nightmare

Level 80+ (Main Storyline)

Once you hit insight 80, you can speak to Bertil in Suomi (White Magic Master) to start this quest.

Items Needed

  • Scorpion's Sting
  • Succubus' Hair (from Mileth Crypt 23+)
  • Raw Honey
  • Ainmeal Ioc Deum (can be crafted through Alchemy or gained from donating to the Mileth altar)

Walkthrough

  1. Speak to Bertil. She gives you an Exquisite Letter.
  2. Read the letter, then talk to her again. She got a letter from Marlin and you confirm it is you Marlin speaks of. He mentions an alchemist and begs for your assistance. Bertil asks you to speak to Carson.
  3. Head to (62, 41) Suomi Village to speak to Carson.
  4. He mentions dreams of a pure maiden who carries the secret to life itself.
  5. Head back to Bertil. She says you need a powerful elixir to enter his dream. Fetch the required items.
  6. Return to Bertil and she will brew a Sleeping Draught for you.

Important: Be grouped! When you use the Draught, it will teleport your entire group.

  1. Defeat the Living Chaos with your group.

    Note: This fight summons spawns which you will need to kill before continuing to fight the Living Chaos.

  2. Once defeated, you will receive a Fragment of Chaos.
  3. Speak to Bertil. She advises you to take the Fragment of Chaos to Rella in the Temple of Choosing to purify it.

  • Legend mark: "Survived a Living Nightmare"
